Enrolling at NMHS
Enrolments for Norwood Morialta High School are in high demand.
The school is at capacity at all year levels and can only accept enrolment applications from families living in the Norwood Morialta High School zone (who can provide proof of residency).
Norwood Morilalta looks forward to welcoming Year 7 students in 2022.
We encourage families of students in Catholic primary school, seeking a Year 7 placement, to make contact with their local (zoned) primary school for the 2020 and 2021 school year.
Transition Process from Year 7 to 8
- Year 7 students and their families residing in the Norwood Morialta High School zone are guaranteed a place in Year 8.
- Year 7 students who live outside of the school zone may apply to enrol for the Norwood Morialta High School and can list their preference for this school on the Application to Enrol into Secondary School form (ED176), with detailed reasons for their preference.
- The Starting Secondary School Information packs are available from the student’s government primary school.
- Students attending a non-government primary school may obtain these packs from the secondary school.
- The completed ED176 form is returned to your child’s government primary school by the date advised in the information pack.
- All applications go through a formal process and students are allocated to secondary schools.
- Students unsuccessful in gaining their first preference may be placed on a waiting list and will be notified of their options in writing.
- The Starting Secondary School Information pack will give you more information regarding this process.

A 1-to-1 laptop program means students have a range of ways to complete any set task allowing each student to be able to connect globally, learn collaboratively and use their laptop as a creative ideas device.
Students at NMHS are expected to have a laptop with them at each of their lessons.
Paperwork must be signed and returned before any installations are done to privately owned laptops.
Payment must be made and all paperwork must be signed and returned before borrowing a school loan laptop.
Students with a privately owned laptop will need to go to the ICT office, on the relevant campus, to book in a time to have software installed.
If you have any questions, please contact the ICT Office on either campus or via email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Norwood Morialta High School is committed to the provision of rich and diverse academic programs that meet the highest community expectations. The School is well aware of the range of financial circumstances of its families and seeks to strike a balance between affordability and the breadth and quality of its programs.
The Governing Council, which represents the parent body, has met and set the council approved contribution. This fee is carefully worked out to establish a base fee to provide an equitable curriculum. As parents/caregivers will realise, this is not an easy process and considerable time and effort is taken to ensure that we offer the most comprehensive curriculum for our students at the best possible cost.
The school fees are $810 for 2019. This is an increase of $5 on the 2018 fees. The school community was polled and voted for full collection of the school fees, which was approved by the Chief Executive Officer of the Department for Education (refer to Education Act section 106A).
This means the whole $810 is compulsory.
If families have not paid in full by the due date, we will assume you are making payments by regular instalments. A suggested schedule is detailed below:
1st Instalment $270 – prior to 15 February 2019
2nd Instalment $270 – prior to 19 March 2019
3rd Instalment $270 – prior to 8 May 2019
If you have not commenced payment by 2nd Instalment date or have any outstanding invoices after 8 May 2019, these will be passed on to our debt collection agency, DfE Recovery Unit, to become part of the school’s debt collection process.
STUDENT IDENTIFICATION CARDS
ID cards are issued in the first few weeks. ID cards issued in 2018 are valid until 28 February 2019. For other students school uniform is proof enough of student status for travel on buses. Once the new cards are issued the students will also use this as their identification when borrowing books and resources from the library. This card should be carried with students at all times.
FAMILIES ELIGIBLE FOR SCHOOL CARD CONCESSION
All School Card application forms are available online. Families must apply each and every year at each school as your circumstances and criteria may have changed. A copy of a School Card form will be enclosed for your convenience with the Statement at the start of 2019.
We are aware that starting back to school can stretch family finances to the limit. If you have special circumstances or need further clarification, we urge you to contact the school via email to dl.0787.invoice.@schools.sa.edu.au or refer to the instalment form which will accompany the invoice in January 2019.
The Building Fund is a great way to both assist the school in planning and developing building programs as well as being a Tax Deduction for families.
In this age of progressive eTechnology and eBooks, we have decided to make the Year Book available as a download via our school’s website at the start of each year for the previous year.
Staff will return to school middle of January to do a financial end of year roll over and printing of the 2019 Invoices for families. Families can expect to receive these and other relevant forms or information during the week commencing Monday 21 January 2019.
