Home Economics is a practical-based subject focussing on individuals, family and community. It encourages development of communication skills, decision making and problem solving through planning, producing and evaluating a practical item and through social living skills.

Plan, present and evaluate a range of food choices suitable for a diverse range of occasions.
Discuss reasons for food choice, and select and implement strategies for personal food selection.
Plan, present and evaluate a range of articles suitable for use by the individual, family and/or community.
The subject has a vocational focus in the areas of Hospitality, Community Services and Fashion Design
