School Exchange / Study Tour to Italy
The Norwood Morialta High School is keen to plan the school’s next School Exchange / Study Tour to Italy.
A Memorandum of Understanding has been established with a school in Torino, Convitto Nazionale Umberto 1. The proposed timing of the Sister School Exchange and Study Tour is Term 3 holidays in 2017 (October).
The purpose of this tour is to provide students who are studying Italian the opportunity to enhance their skills and to experience the culture and the history of the country first hand. It will provide other students with the opportunity to gain intercultural engagement with another culture, reflecting our school’s vision and mission statements.
Whilst details are still being finalized, the intention is for students to be hosted by families for approximately 10 days and then to participate in a cultural tour to several cities in Italy, eg Venice, Florence and Rome for approximately 6 days. More detailed information will be available at our first meeting.
The estimated cost is approximately $3,700, plus personal spending money, per person. This price includes airfare, taxes, insurance and the tour.
We need to be confident that we have the required numbers before making bookings. The cost of the tour is dependent on the number of participants and also a minimum number of students required for the tour to go ahead. It is important that we get a clear indication of the number of people genuinely interested in participating so that we can plan further.
If you are interested in your son/daughter being part of this tour please email Helen Tooulou, Languages Coordinator, Helen.Tooulou648@schools.sa.edu.au indicating student name, year level and your contact details by the end of January 2017.
If there is sufficient interest we will be in contact with you to make further arrangements and a meeting of all interested parties.
